Backend Engineer - Node.js

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js.
• Proven experience with server-side frameworks such as Express.js.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and its quirks.
• Familiarity with MySQL and MongoDB.
• Experience in RESTful API design and development.
• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
• Understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Node.js code.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure the quality of the codebase.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient in Node.js and server-side JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
